जयपुर भारत देश के सबसे बड़े राज्य राजस्थान में स्थित है।यह राजस्थान की राजधानी कहलाती है। यह राजस्थान का सबसे बड़ा और सुंदर शहर है। जयपुर आमेर के राजा सवाई जयसिंह के द्वारा स्थित किया गया था।इन्ही राजा के नाम पर इस शहर का नाम जयपुर पड़ा। इसे पिनकेसिटी यानी गुलाबी शहर भी कहते हैं।यह अरावली पर्वतमाला घिरा हुआ है।यह पर्यटकों के लिए एक काफी अच्छा घूमने का शहर है। भारत के मानचित्र में इसका कार्यक्रम उसके रूप में देखने को मिलता है। इस शहर को आधुनिक योजनाकारों द्वारा एक व्यवस्थित शहरों में गिना जाता है। यह शहर अपनी वास्तुकला के लिए बहुत प्रसिद्ध है।यहां के मुख्य उद्योग संगमरमर वस्तु तथा हस्त से बनी वस्तुओं का आयात निर्यात होता है। जयपुर को भारत का पेरिस भी कहते हैं। यहां के कई दर्शनीय स्थल जैसे जंतर मंतर ,आमेर का किला तथा जयगढ़ दुर्ग आदि हैं ।यह अपनी रंग बिरंगें सामानों से भरी बजारों के लिए तथा हथकरघा उत्पाद, हाथी दांत के हस्तशिल्प , संगमरमर से बनी मूर्तियों आदि के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। इस शहर की शुरुआत 19वीं शताब्दी से हुई थी ।इस शताब्दी में इसकी जनसंख्या लगभग 180000 थी परंतु अब यह बढ़कर 30.7 लाख
